Hashish and marijuana are made from the hemp plant (Cannabis sativa) in large parts of the world simply in the free nature. Smoking (smoking cannabis) the most common form of use and through pot vaporizer the more commonly used today. Also it will be incorporated into foods, for example, as a space cake or dissolved in boiling milk. In the hemp plant are psychoactive substances, also called cannabinoids. The main one is THC: Tetra-Hydro-Cannabinol. The more THC in marijuana or hashish is, the stronger it is.

The hemp plant performs many functions for thousands of years. This plant is cultivated for centuries by man in different ways: as medicine, raw materials for textiles and of course as a drug because of its psychoactive properties, whether used in religious ceremonies. In BC, the effects of cannabis have already been described in medical writings. In India, cannabis in religious ceremonies hailed as divine spirits. In Roman times, were guests after the meal offered hemp cookies. But it was not just because of the psychoactive properties used, the English used cannabis as a raw material for textiles and rope.
The law
The Netherlands is not legally allowed to produce or sell softdrugs. However, there are national guidelines (issued by the Board of Procurators-General) on how the law should be upheld. Local prosecutors may deviate from these guidelines, but usually they are followed.
The guidelines state that coffeeshops can exist in the Netherlands and hashish and marijuana may sell, if they follow certain rules. These rules, called G-AHOJ criteria were adjusted as. The rules are:
No posting (advertising). This means no advertising other than a mark on the wall.
No hard drugs. There should be no hard drugs for a coffee shop owned / sold.
No nuisance. Under nuisance would include: noise, pollution and / or hanging around or near the coffee shop customers.
No sales to youth under 18 and no access to people under 18 to a coffeeshop.
No sale of large quantities per customer per transaction. In other words, there may not be sold more than 5 grams per person per day.

This agreement means the freedom to deviate from the guidelines.
Cannabis with a THC content of 15 percent or more is a hard drug. The government wants to signal that strong cannabis to be seen as a means to an unacceptable risk. The consumption and production of heavy marijuana through pot vaporizer should be reduced according to the government. A high THC content plays a role in the increased damage to health, especially when used at a young age. Coffeeshops may then only offer cannabis with a THC content of up to 15 percent.  There is still a debate with the House. When it is unclear, then it becomes clear whether there is sufficient support.
